It's Official!!!

It's official our plane tickets are booked and we head out of the country for our long flights to Uganda on August 18th.  The to-do list seems to have started to maintain its length.   We let our employers know which ended up with resignations at both of them, so in August we are both unemployed, a first.  Both of our jobs have been both gracious and understanding.

Heather and I have had some amazing conversations with folks that admire what we are doing; although there are the fair share of skeptics.  I completely understand both points of views.  We get asked a lot what are you going to do in Uganda -- like really what are you going to do?  To be honest we don't fully know but one of the things we are trying to do is be patient and leave space for the unplanned to happen.  There will be a lot of learning: learning of a new culture, a new language, learning of new place to live, meeting new people.  We do know there is a school of about 100 Uganda children, a medical clinic, slum outreach program, farm education and craft education. We know there is work and learning to do, we just have to patient and when we get there we will figure it out.

All in all we are amazed that we are actually doing this and also feel very fortunate that it is an option for us and our family.

Our Journey and Videos

Last Sunday we had the opportunity to share our journey with our church, there were some nerves and tears but it was a very rewarding day.  If you are interested here is our journey.

We received some new videos from Come Let's Dance about the new construction on the school.  These new videos as well as some old ones are posted on the Information part of this blog. Also here are new videos:  Classrooms and Bathrooms.
